Holiday Recovery

Wow! It's been quite a long time since my last blog. It is eleven days into the new year and I've got to say, I am still in vacation mode. I think when the new year begins, the easiest way to recover is to make a resolution. I know the statistics for people keeping their resolutions are very negative, but the resolution I'm talking about isn't one that should last the whole year, but the month of January.
The way I try to recover from the holidays is through organization. Partly due to necessity (my kids get so many new clothes and toya for Christmas I need to make room), and partly to jump start the year, I organize the house. I clean out the kids' clothes and toys and make donations to the salvation army and I do the same for my husband's and my clothes. This year, I even did it with stuff around the house, like old decor, bedding, towels, and kitchen stuff. I have resolved this year to worry less about "stuff" and more about the relationships in my life. By getting rid of the exess and keeping only what I need, I feel this is a good place to start.
Another thing I began organizing was my time. I am still struggling with this but I am trying to budget my time to make room for exercising, planning meals, grocery shopping, and cooking. All of these things will lead to a healthier me but they also takee time out of a day that seems already so full of important thing. My health however, needs to be a priority for 2012.
The last thing I am organizing is my career, I have resolved to take some online webinars and read some professional literature that will improve my efficiency on the job and in essense, free up some minutes to concentrate on my health and my family. I will keep you updated on my prgress and will blog again soon on my newest exercise obesession for 2012!
